The inquiry form

The contact form on the home page asks for a name, a work email and your question. Company and timing are optional. What we store is exactly those fields, the time of the message, and the browser's user-agent string (up to 300 characters). Messages are held in the Permeate Lab backend and can be read only by Permeate Lab operators. We use them to reply to you. They are not sold, and they are not used for advertising.

We do not store your IP address with your inquiry. To reject repeated identical messages and unusual volumes of sending, we store two one-way values that cannot be read back: a marker used for hourly counting, and a marker for the message itself.

The form does not accept file uploads. Please leave confidential files out of it.

Analytics

This website loads one analytics script. It is served from this site's own address and reports to this site's own address, so no request goes out to another company's servers. No advertising tag and no third-party tracker is loaded.

Ordinary web server request logs may also record standard information such as the requested page, time, and browser type.

Accounts and cookies

Client accounts exist by invitation only. There is no public sign-up. When an invited client signs in, their email address and a sign-in session are held so the reading room can confirm which project they may read. The session is kept in the browser for that purpose alone. No cookie on this site is used for advertising or tracking.

Project membership controls access to released records and the creation of download links. Files are stored privately. Download links are configured with a two-minute expiry and may be used more than once by anyone who holds the link. Removing someone from a project prevents new reading-room access and new download links; it does not revoke links already issued or recall files already downloaded. Cached copies may remain available after a link expires. Private pages are excluded from search, and reading-room data responses instruct browsers and shared caches not to store them.
